New version of this product is different than what is reviewedJun 20, 2012

"Mother of Four"
I wanted to post a review of this product because I did go through and read some of the Amazon.com reviews before I purchased, and a lot of them are out of date or just unfair (like the accusation that company employees are posting positive reviews under the guise of consumers).
I bought mine at Wal-Mart. The copyright date on the box was 2011. This is the one you need to buy, because it is different and better than the older version. I don't know if this is the one they're selling on Amazon.com or not, but the box that came with ours does look the same as the one they're showing on Amazon.
The tent is pretty big. All four of my children are able to fit inside of it (ages 7, 6, 4 and 2), though I can't really say how comfortable they are. I'm sure they're pretty crammed in when they're all in there. There is plenty of room for a larger adult and at least one child to sit inside comfortably.
The whole inside of the tent is made from the light sensitive material, except for the floor and the two ends, so there is plenty of room to draw. The drawings last a lot longer than I would have expected, too ... several minutes vs. several seconds.
My kids have really enjoyed this tent and they literally spend hours inside of it. Which is really great since it's summer and they are perpetually bored.
The major drawback and reason I didn't give the tent four stars is because the material (especially on the ends) is flimsy. Ours had a hole in it when it arrived. I seriously doubt this tent would stand up to a lot of rough play ... which is something my kids tend to do. I have to constantly remind them that the tent is for drawing in, not playing in. Also the poles you use to keep the tent rigid seem just a little too long, so they bow slightly. Which isn't really a problem, but it's a sign of poorer quality.
We just got this tent, so I will post an update later if there are any real problems with durability. Hope this helps someone make a choice.

Picture on Box is DeceptiveApr 01, 2011
By T. Rodriguez First and foremost I want to let anyone interested in this product know that the entire inside of the tent is NOT glow material contrary to what the box illustrates. There are only two areas where your child can draw. One is the ceiling approx 36x30 inches and a smaller square on the back wall approx 18x18 inches. The entire rest of the inner tent does not glow at all, my children were disappointed by this. The design of the tent is also different from what is shown on the box. The front opening is not a large U shape but a very small flap opening. Your children will have to crawl in and out. The material is thin which was kind of expected but it seems a bit thinner than other pop up play tents of this kind.
This could have been a fantastic product had they made it like the illustrated box photo. Like I said above the biggest disappointment is the small size of the drawable inner glow area.

not as advertisedAug 23, 2011
By RS First of all, the dome is not what is on the box and it really doesn't fit together. The poles are too long and cannot be secured by the velcro enclosure. Secondly, it shows and says on the box that you can draw all over the inside of the dome. That is not true. As other reviews have said, there is only a small area on the top and on the back of the dome. Very disappointed. The material seemed to be of good quality and the concept is good, but the product is not. Buyer beware. I don't believe there is a newer model that allows you to draw all over the inside. The dome on the box is completely different than what you get.

The Doodle Dome we received is not anything like advertised.Jan 09, 2012
By tom We bought the Glow Crazy Doodle Dome for our 6 year old Grand Daughter for Christmas. It's all she asked for. What a disappointment that was for her and us. The company that shipped it say they do not have another one. We are not sure we would want another one if they are all like this one. It must have been defective right out of the box. The tent would not stay up. It is real flimsy and nothing like the picture on the box. TOTALLY DIFFERENT. We were told we could ship it back AT OUR EXPENSE for a refund. It will not go back in the box. It is too big and awkward, I don't know what we would ever ship it in. Since our Grand Daughter lives in another state, we don't know when we will get it anyway.
Unless we just got ahold of a bad one, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Awesome toy with lots of potentialSep 07, 2011
By LV4kids2read I am so impressed with this toy! A friend bought it for my daughter at Walmart. Usually I find that this type of thing isn't all it appears to be but this toy comes through. The back and front of the tent are not writable but all other surfaces inside are. The glow shows up very well and the tent blocks outside light enough to use inside in the middle of the day. My teenager and I even enjoyed her sister's toy for quite a while. I came looking for it on Amazon to purchase for my classroom. I can see much potential for this toy for such things as practicing letters, spelling words, and cursive writing. I also plan to use time in it as a reward for my students. I don't know if there are other older versions but this one is super!
